Stop the Lag: 5 Critical Windows Settings You Must Change for Gaming!

Is your high-end PC underperforming? Or maybe your laptop struggles to keep a stable frame rate? The culprit might not be your hardware, but Windows itself. By default, Windows is optimized for productivity, not gaming. Here are 5 quick settings to unlock your PC's true potential:
Enable "Game Mode": It sounds simple, but many ignore it. Turning this on prevents Windows Update from performing driver installations and sending restart notifications during gameplay. It also helps achieve a more stable frame rate.
Go to: Settings > Gaming > Game Mode.
Disable "Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling" (HAGS): For users with modern NVIDIA or AMD cards, this can reduce latency and improve performance by allowing the GPU to manage its own memory.
Go to: Settings > System > Display > Graphics > Change default graphics settings.
Change Power Plan to "Ultimate Performance": Windows often hides this plan. It eliminates the micro-latencies associated with power-saving features.
Quick Tip: Open Command Prompt as Admin and type powercfg -duplicatescheme e9a42b02-d5df-448d-aa00-03f14749eb61 to unlock it!
Disable "Enhanced Pointer Precision": For FPS players, this is "Mouse Acceleration" in disguise. It ruins your muscle memory by changing how far your cursor moves based on speed, not just distance.
Go to: Control Panel > Mouse > Pointer Options > Uncheck 'Enhanced pointer precision'.
Turn Off Background Apps: Every cycle counts. Prevent unnecessary apps from eating up your CPU and RAM.
Go to: Settings > Apps > Installed Apps (choose 'Advanced options' on heavy apps to set Background apps permissions to 'Never').
